Kristin Herrmann

Kristin Herrmann has worked in early childhood, K-12, and higher education federal policy for over 15 years. Previously, she served as Deputy Assistant Secretary in Legislative and Congressional Affairs at the U.S. Department of Education. She spent over six years on Capitol Hill working for Senator Lamar Alexander as his Senior Education Policy Advisor on the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee. She also served as Senator Mike DeWine's education and child policy staffer. She began her career on the Hill working for Congressman Jay Dickey managing his Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education (LHHS-Ed) Appropriations work.
Kristin Herrmann began her career as a teacher. She served as a Kindergarten teacher in Houston, Texas as part of the 1996 Teach For America corps. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Emory University and a Master of Social Work from New York University.
