Louisa Hurt is a Policy Associate at EducationCounsel, with experience in early childhood and elementary education and has been working with young children in different capacities for over ten years. Louisa was a Press Assistant for the United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation from 2019-2021 before transitioning into the education world. She got her M.A. in Teaching Elementary Education from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. She then taught PreK in Decatur, Georgia, before moving back to her hometown of Washington, D.C. to combine her passion for education and experience in communications to work in education policy and consulting. Louisa earned her B.A. in Mass Communication from Loyola University New Orleans in 2019.

She then taught PreK in Decatur, Georgia, before moving back to her hometown of Washington, D.C. to combine her passion for education and experience in communications to work in education policy and consulting.
