Nathan Woods is a Senior Policy Associate at EducationCounsel with a range of experiences in K12 education, advocacy and community and family engagement.  Prior to joining to EducationCounsel, He served as the Associate Director of Advocacy at KIPP DC, a local education agency in Washington, DC, where he led the strategic planning related to government affairs, external advocacy, growth and community engagement following an early career as a high school humanities teacher.

Nathan began his career in education as a 2014 Teach for America corps member in San Antonio. Texas where he was a middle school history teacher. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and Child and Family Policy from Syracuse University and a Master's in Education Policy and Leadership from American University.
